A Letter to the Woman Who Feels Stuck.
To the Woman Who Feels Stuck,
This message is for you.
Are you sitting in neutral, paralyzed by the weight of uncertainty? Your mind is a battlefield, torn between the whispers of hope and the chains of fear. You believe—at least, you want to believe—that something better is waiting for you, that a different life is possible. But right now? You don’t even know which step leads you there.
And that’s okay.
If you knew the million steps it would take to reach that promise, you might give up before you even started. Sometimes, not knowing is a gift—protecting us from the overwhelm, from self-destruction, from the temptation to turn back too soon. Right now, you’re at the base of the mountain, staring up at what feels impossible. But impossible is where miracles are born.
And yet, I know what’s running through your mind.
You second-guess every move. You rehearse the past, rewrite the present, and fear the future. You don’t say it out loud, but you might text it to a friend in the middle of the night:
“I feel pathetic and weak.”
“He’s like a drug—I know he’ll hurt me, but I don’t know how to break the addiction.”
“Is this all in my head?”
“I keep crawling back for crumbs, and I hate myself for it.”
“I don’t even recognize myself anymore.”
“I’m not strong enough to break this trauma bond.”
“He’s manipulating me again.”
“The rejection messes me up and makes me weak.”
“I feel like a prisoner. He still controls my freedom.”
If you’re here, in this moment—sitting in the ache, drowning in the shame, feeling invisible and unheard—know this:
God recruits from the pit, not the pedestal.
Three Women Who Were Once Stuck, Just Like You
Esther – A woman with no power, taken from her home, forced into a king’s harem. But God used her to save an entire nation. (Esther 4:14 – “Perhaps you were born for such a time as this.”)
Mary Magdalene – A woman tormented by demons, labeled as broken and unworthy. But Jesus set her free, and she became one of His most devoted followers. (Luke 8:2)
The Woman at the Well – A woman shunned, jumping from relationship to relationship, searching for something to fill the void. But Jesus met her in her shame, and she left her past behind, becoming the first evangelist in her city. (John 4:29 – “Come, see a man who told me everything I ever did.”)
And you? You are no different.
God sees you. He knows your past, your fears, and the places where you feel stuck. But where the enemy sees failure, God sees a future.
That’s where strength is forged. That’s where resilience is built. That’s where purpose is uncovered.
Hope Rising
In the last two weeks, I have watched hope rise in ways I never expected. Ashes to Exodus started as a fragile dream, a wild leap of faith. And then…
Donations I never imagined appeared overnight.
Expenses that weighed on me were covered in an instant.
Phone calls came from unexpected places—random people I barely knew asking how they could help.
Messages poured in: “How can I volunteer? I can offer this, is that helpful? How can I stand with you?”
A tribe has risen—out of the woodwork, from unexpected corners, with relentless love and unwavering support. If there’s one thing God has shown me, it’s that He doesn’t care about protocol. He moves where there is faith, and He honors those who step forward with audacity and tenacity.
So that is what we will do—move forward with audacity and tenacity.
It won’t be glamorous. It won’t be easy. But it will be worth it.
Your Next Step
Maybe you don’t have all the answers right now. Maybe you don’t have a five-year plan. Maybe you don’t even have a five-day plan. But you don’t need all the answers to take one step.
So let me ask you: What is the one small step of faith you need to take this week?
Is it telling someone the truth about your situation?
Is it choosing not to answer his call?
Is it listening fully to someone else’s hard story?
Is it praying for the first time in a long time?
Whatever it is—just take that one step.
With Gratitude and Determination,
